VIENNA, Va. – August 6, 2015 – On Wednesday June 10th, 2015, the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) recognized Susan Mau Larson of LifeSource by presenting her with the Association’s 2015 Reg Green Award. This award is given annually to an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) public relations or communications professional within the organ and tissue community for ongoing and dedicated services to the profession, someone who heretofore has gone unrecognized for those contributions. The award was presented to Mau Larson at AOPO’s 32nd Annual Meeting by Gift of Life Donor Program’s Director of Community Relations, John Green.
In front of a crowd of nearly 900 meeting attendees in Phoenix, Green announced that Mau Larson “has been influential not only in her own OPO, but nationally in a diverse scope of work that includes media relations, public education, volunteer relations, family services, grant management and legislative affairs.” Green went on to describe Mau Larson as an innovator and inspiration; bringing intelligence, humor and humility to all the work that she does.
Ms. Mau Larson currently serves as Director of Public Affairs at LifeSource, an OPO serving Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and portions of western Wisconsin.
