General Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Finance and in accordance with established protocols and procedures, the Senior Accountant will perform a variety of duties associated with and related to Infinite Legacy’s Finance department. These duties will include various accounting functions requiring application of the principles of accounting involving financial statement preparation and analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general administrative duties.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, analyzing the statement of activities, the statement of financial position, general ledger accounts, and will provide occasional support to members of the finance team with payroll, customer invoicing, specialized billing and online portals, processing vendor invoices, coding and distribution for approvals. The Senior Accountant will be the primary person to maintain the Prophix system regarding its implementation and management under the direction of the Senior Manager, Finance.

Position may require travel to Infinite Legacy regional offices.  Hybrid position after fully trained.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited university required; or in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience with financial reporting/general ledger area required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares monthly and year-end journal entries, schedules and reconciliations used for preparation of accurate and complete financial statements on a timely basis. The journal entries and reconciliations include bank reconciliations, investments, prepaid expenses, medical inventory, payroll and employee benefit accruals, fixed assets and depreciation, direct and operating expense accruals, reconciliations for monthly CMS Cost Report update, among others.
  2. Reviews and analyzes all statement of financial position accounts and key income and expense accounts, with an emphasis on identification of variances and resolution of problems and errors, including a full statement of financial position audit-focused month-end approach.
  3. Prepares month-end close support, including monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis and budgeting support as needed.
  4. Helps coordinate and complete year-end financial audit with supporting materials and analyses.
  5. Acts as primary Prophix FP&A system support and contact, with key duties to support the Finance department use of financial, variance, board, and budget/planning reports, data views and schedules within the Prophix website.
  6. Provides back up as necessary for the Accounts Receivable Coordinator with posting cash collections to customer accounts.
  7. Provides back up as necessary for the Accounts Payable Coordinator for various functions.
  8. Reviews bi-weekly payroll in ADP and assists with some ADP-related projects in collaboration with the Payroll Coordinator.
  9. Prepares special reports, analysis, and project support for the Finance team as needed.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: 

This position requires consistent availability, travel, and certain physical, language and communication abilities, including:

  1. Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured automobile for transportation.
  2. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate telephones and computers.
  3. Ability to accurately communicate, converse and exchange information in English over the telephone and in person.
  4. Computer literacy in a Microsoft Windows environment and demonstrated competency in the use of Microsoft Office software programs.
  5. Works in normal office environment where there are no physical discomforts due to temperature, noise, dust, etc.
  6. Work requires attention to detail, adhering to deadlines, assigning and receiving work from other staff, which may produce mental fatigue.
  7. Frequent and prolonged use of computer screen may produce visual fatigue.
  8. This position is Level 3 – Low to no exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens and no exposure to TB. These staff members do not visit hospitals.
