General Responsibilities
To manage the day-to-day operations of all process improvement efforts at Legacy of Hope. To supervise the Process Improvement Analysts. To lead process improvement teams and coordinate various projects tied to Legacy of Hope’s strategic plan. To facilitate targeted process improvement activities and strategic level action plans through the use of improvement tools and methodologies including Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma and Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) to deliver measurable impact on organizational goals. To assist the Executive Leadership with data analysis and interpretation to promote evidence-based decision making as well as provide expertise in change management concepts to effectively implement new initiatives and drive organizational transformation.
Examples of successful outcomes may include eliminating non-value-added steps, reducing errors, reducing unnecessary costs, providing exceptional service to stakeholders, and ultimately increasing the ability to maximize the number of transplantable organs and tissues available to recipients.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages efforts to establish new and existing processes in all aspects of the organization. Participates with leadership in the identification and prioritization of initiatives. Analyzes work processes to assess how/where/what to improve. Documents results of analysis and communicates to internal/external stakeholders in an effort to facilitate change. Actively manages
initiatives to completion. Documents and organizes progress of initiatives and disseminates to internal/external stakeholders. - Oversees the collaboration with organizational work system personnel to support organizational and departmental performance excellence and strategic plan initiatives. Supports the strategic plan, QAPI, ION and change management initiatives. Facilitates organizational work system and other personnel regarding the performance of root cause analyses; FEMAs; data collection and analysis; and action plan development, implementation, deployment and monitoring of effectiveness. Facilitates the performance of key process reviews within the organization to identify critical opportunities for improvement and direct effective implementation of associated action plans.
- Leads and assists leadership team members in the facilitation of knowledge management to ensure improvement efforts are driven by data. Performs data collection and analysis to evaluate and modify work processes related to organs and tissue recovered, patient safety, and customer satisfaction. Using various tools, leads teams to analyzes processes, make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies, and drives the implementation of recommendations. Documents data and presents it in person to various groups, including internal and external stakeholders. Creates effective data visualizations. Ensures data integrity of the data utilized in strategic planning and QAPI process. Supports the organization’s understanding and use of data in processes, performance monitoring, and analysis.
- Leads implementation of Baldrige and/or other performance excellence frameworks throughout the organization. Assists with educating and coaching leaders on integrating the framework thought all aspects of the organization. Facilitates Baldrige team meetings and ensures accomplishment of tasks and initiatives. Educates on the Approach, Deployment, Learning, and Integration of key work processes. Assists in the creation of any applications for the National Malcolm Baldrige Award.
- Manages the selection, training development, and performance of assigned staff to retain a qualified and motivated workforce. Recruits and selects applicants for job vacancies considering the requirements of the job the skills/abilities of the applicants. Establishes and communicates job responsibilities as well as employee performance expectations to assure mutual understanding of desired results. Identifies training and development opportunities that will assist the employee in achieving enhanced job performance and career objectives. Constructively coaches and counsels for success to see optimal employee performance and engagement. Builds support alliances between and among departments to promote the achievement of organizational goals. Conducts performance reviews in alignment with job expectations. Creates and fosters positive professional relationships for enhanced collaboration with customers, partners, and stakeholders and actively engages in strategic thinking.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Information Technology/Informatics, Business or a healthcare-related field and five (5) years experience with healthcare process or performance improvement methodologies. Three (3) years experience with organ and/or tissue donation and/or transplantation and Master’s degree preferred. Experience with advanced software and database skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, QI Macros) preferred.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Project Management Certification required or must be obtained within two
(2) years from the date of hire. Black Belt Certification preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Approximately one (1) to three (3) direct reports.
Budget Responsibilities
No fiscal responsibility.

- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, preferably related to OPOs regulatory requirements
