The Role: As the Director of Performance Excellence, you will oversee and implement a comprehensive organization-wide performance excellence program, focusing on improving effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment across all areas of the organization. You will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and other key stakeholders to champion problem-solving and process improvement methodologies utilized for performance improvement initiatives, manage idea intake and innovation systems, and drive the Malcolm Baldrige Quest for Excellence Program to elevate our organizational goals. Your leadership will help foster a culture of continuous improvement, aligning teams and resources towards common objectives and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement performance improvement initiatives, using data-driven insights, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and other improvement tools.
- Guide the development and deployment of our Idea and Innovation Management System, driving cross-departmental engagement and ensuring continuous sharing of innovative ideas.
- Provide strategic leadership and support for the Malcolm Baldrige Excellence Framework, ensuring its successful integration throughout the organization.
- Manage and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on progress, challenges, and successes related to performance improvement.
- Serve as a strategic partner with senior leadership, presenting updates and performance metrics, and identifying opportunities for continued growth.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, offering training and development programs to build Lean principles and problem-solving skills across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a must.
- 7-10 years of experience in performance improvement, change management, or operational excellence roles, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated success in implementing large-scale change initiatives and Lean methodologies to improve organizational performance.
- 5+ years of leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving cultural change and fostering collaboration across departments.
- Experience with project management software, as well as expertise in data analysis, performance measurement, and KPI tracking.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Public speaking experience and the ability to present compelling reports to leadership and stakeholders is preferred.
- Familiarity with Malcolm Baldrige or other state/regional performance excellence programs is a plus.
