Shawn was born with Generalized Genetic Disorder (Epilepsy). Shawn had his first seizure at the age of 22. Throughout his life, he had numerous seizures. Several doctor visits were made until we found one at MUSC. He prescribed Shawn with medicine that helped his seizures and he went 5 years seizure free.

Shawn was an avid bass fisherman. He started fishing at a very young age. He loved being in his boat and the thrill of the line zipping through the water. On the morning that Shawn passed away, he was doing what he loved and once told me that is how he would like to go to Heaven. Shawn passed away from SUDEP(Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). I decided to donate his cornea, since Shawn was an organ donor. My heart is full knowing somewhere there is a part of Shawn out there, maybe even doing a little fishing.

I miss my husband, tremendously.
