In February 2022, our world was shattered. Our sweet, 7-year-old, Sam, was taken from us far too soon after suffering a ruptured AVM, a condition we never knew he had. The pain of losing him in such an unexpected and heartbreaking way is something no parent should ever have to endure.
When we were told that Sam would not survive, I knew that Sam’s story could not end in tragedy, and asked about the possibility of organ donation. I needed something good to come out of something horrible, and so, Sam became a hero. Sam gave the gift of life to five others. His heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver continue to work here on earth.
Sam is our hero. He may not be with us physically, but through his gift, he continues to make an impact on this world. We’ll forever be proud of him.
