On February 16th, 1974, we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy that grew into a young man that loved his family and friends with all his heart. Ron was a devoted sports fan whether watching or playing, loved anything on wheels that was fast, fishing, hunting, watching the sun sink into the ocean in Ixtapa, Mexico, and being at Grandma’s house on Sundays. Ron lost his life in 1997 from a closed head injury riding a three wheeler and our family’s lives were changed forever. The decision to donate organs was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make something we had never discussed or even knew about. In time we discovered it was the greatest decision we ever made-we absolutely love our donor families; they have known and shared sorrow, gave us hope when we felt hopeless, taught us to see life as a gift to be cherished, and they also taught us to be grateful for the time we had with Ron. They are as true a hero…..as Ron.
