My son River was a kind empathetic person who always wanted to help people. He loved music and taught himself to play many instruments, his favorite was the guitar. The guitar seemed to come naturally to him. He was also very good at putting together original songs and enjoyed playing covers. He wanted to become an elementary school music teacher. In 2016, River was in a serious automobile accident resulting in him being life-flighted to Grant Hospital. He spent 11 days in ICU fighting for his life with his family beside him. He lost that fight but was able to donate his liver and both of his kidneys as well as tissue and his corneas. We have been blessed to be able to meet the liver recipient and know that River would be so happy to have helped her and her family.
