My dad was hit by a car while mowing the yard. I was 17 and 2 weeks away from starting high school. The high school I attended had Donate Life come to speak a few times throughout my years there. I never thought I would be in the situation when hearing the presentation by Donate Life, but when it did directly affect me, I had an understanding of the impact his tragic death could have for those waiting on the transplant list. I will forever and always miss my dad but his last act on earth was to save several people. This is the essence of who my dad always was-a giver.
