Macy Meadows was a sweet, hard working 9-year-old who brought so much hope and joy to the world! She was a daughter to Scott and Angel, a twin sister to Mack, a big sister to Laynie and Kinley, and a friend to all she met.
There really wasn’t a place or activity that Macy didn’t LOVE… school, softball, soccer, gymnastics, playing the piano, running, cheerleading, dancing, reading, singing, swimming, making crafts, baking etc. You name it, she was willing to try it. Adventure could have been her middle name.
Just a few of Macy’s favorite things included, her family and friends, her Double Doodle Doggie, chocolate cake, her shoe collection, and the Buckeyes. She loved all things glittery and pink, and she wanted to wear a dress and high heels daily. Whether on the softball diamond, the soccer field, in dance or gymnastics class, piano lessons, or the classroom, Macy was ALWAYS smiling. It was contagious to all those around her.
In 2016, on her way to a softball game, Macy experienced an AVM rupture, and her precious brain began to bleed. Despite the efforts of the doctors and staff at Nationwide Children’s hospital, Macy was declared “brain dead”. In the early morning hours Macy gave the ultimate gift. She gave the gift of a healthy heart, liver, pancreas, and 2 kidneys to 2 children and 2 adults through organ donation.
On this 5 year anniversary of her death and organ donation, we would like to share Macy’s legacy of HOPE, LOVE, and JOY with the world.
