Our mother had congestive heart failure and she stopped breathing on the way to the hospital. They were able to get her breathing again and then they put her on a ventilator and sent her to Madison Wis. After 3 days we were called in to meet with her lung dr. He told us that before all this she needed double lung transplants. He told us that there was no response from her at all. And if we choose to keep her with us she would have to live in assisted living and she wouldn't live without the ventilator. We knew we had to take her off and let her go. Being able to donate was the only blessing.
