I want to honor and celebrate my true hero, my sister Latalyia Johnson. My sister chose to donate me a kidney while she was pregnant with my niece. We had to wait until she had my niece and healed up for us to go through the process. The process took about 6-8 months and we were cleared to have the transplant on November 13, 2009. I love my sister so much for the love and care she showed for me to have a better quality of life. I tell her all the time we are twins due to me having her kidney in me. Each day I think about where I would be or if I would even be here if she didn’t take the steps to donate to me. We are a very close family and speak almost everyday. Latalyia Johnson you are my true hero!!!
