LaKendra was Mary’s oldest daughter and the light of our life. LaKendra tragically lost her life in a car accident in 1994 – a day that changed Mary’s life forever. During the time Mary (Mom) spent next to LaKendra’s bed after the accident, she knew losing her was going to be the hardest thing she had ever done. She also knew there was an opportunity to help others, including a little boy who only had a 15% chance of living if he didn’t receive a liver transplant. That little boy was a thriving and an active part of Mary’s life. Through the gift of life, LaKendra’s legacy continues as her Mom (Mary) shares her story every chance she gets.
