I received my double lung transplant a couple years ago. It would be several months before my donor family and I received communications from each other. I was blessed not only with an extremly good match and organs but with the most gracious and compassionate family that proudly have become amazing friends, more than that really. During the most devastating time in their lives they selflessly donated life saving organs from their beautiful child for people like myself to have a second chance to live. As of this moment my lungs are working just great, besides meds, checkups and periodic testing my life is completely normal and I an able to enjoy life again. There are no words to express my gratitude and love to them and the entire Donate Life organizations, there is no greater gift than giving life.
