Katie was a vibrant active young lady that lived life and the people that she was around. Katie was active in working in long term care homes for the elderly and handicapped, she was also active in helping with the family day care center.
Early on the morning of April 17, 2017 while on her way to work Katie tragically passed away from the results of a vehicle accident. Katie was 3 months short of celebrating her 22nd birthday. Unknown to her mother and myself, Katie was an organ donor, we were neither shocked by this as Katie was always helping others, and thought about helping others even upon her death.
After Katie’s passing, her mother and I have both registered as donors.
Life is but a vapor, which can disappear in the blinking of an eye, enjoy and embrace the moments you have.
Katie is our hero donor and has been missed greatly.
