Julie Melody was an amazing, strong, beautiful woman, mother, grandmother, sister and a healer. Her passing leaves many of us missing her hugs and kisses and the beautiful way she loved us all and held us close. She was a blessing on this earth to all who got to know her and were able to learn from her too.

After her passing, a loving wife made one final, selfless gift to her husband Jim Melody —her corneas. Jim suffered from Fuch’s dystophy and was in need of a cornea transplant. In accordance with her wishes and through the miracle of donation, her corneal tissue was transplanted to restore her husband’s failing vision. Though she is not with us physically, her legacy lives on in a deep and personal way: each time he opens his eyes to see the world around him, it’s through the gift she left behind. Her love transcended life, allowing him to experience the world more clearly—through her eyes, both literally and symbolically.
