Jorge is an unassuming person, an immigrant to the United States, a runner and an artist. 17 years ago, my father, Richard Lanin, was saved at 78 by a liver transplant. Years later, to pay it back, I tried to donate a kidney but was not approved.
Jorge decided to be the donor and in July of 2022, he made an anonymous donation. He is now co-chair of a newly forming Donate Life New Jersey. For Jorge to accept any accolades is almost impossible, but he's decided to share his story in the hopes that if even one person follows his example, it will be worth it.
