4 1/2 years ago we received a call that my brother had a heart attack at the age of 53. We rushed to the hospital and he was on life support. He was flown to a different hospital where we all were at his bedside praying John would wake up and be ok…that wasn’t to happen. As we decided as a family what to do, we looked on his license and saw that he check that important box and that he wanted to be an organ donor. Our decision had been made for us and we knew what we had to do. Upon John’s passing, he was able to donate both his corneas and give the gift of sight to two woman. This gave my family peace and love knowing that John was able to give that gift and the he would “live on”. My brother will always be my hero, and we walk and run each year in his memory at Donor Dash. We are forever “Through John’s Eyes” strong. I love you my brother ❤️💚💙💚💙❤️
