Gavin was a Type 1 diabetic. When he experienced an unknown pump failure he went into diabetic keto acidosis from high sugars. This cause an arrhythmia and then cardiac arrest. After CPR they were able to get his heart beating but it had been too long for his brain. It was his wish to be an organ donor and an amazing blessing for his family and the recipients. We will be walking in memory of Gavin with two of his recipients this year!!
