I am a cornea recipient. After writing a letter in care of the Georgia Eye Bank. I was contacted by the daughter of my donor. I received a cornea transplant for the other eye as well, but I have not been contacted by my donor’s family. My two donors basically gave me my life back. I was headed toward blindness and was unable to drive at night or in rain due to Fuchs Dystrophy. Reading certain color print was also impossible. My two transplants were complete successes. I am so grateful each and every day to my two donors and their families.
