My brother, Garen, passed away suddenly at the age of 36 in 2018. He was legally blind, had hemophilia, and ocular albinism. He was different to say the least. He was determined not to let his disabilities stop him. Despite being blind, he was able to drive. He obtained a bachelors and masters degree in the field of criminal justice.
He was an avid hiker and passionate about animal rescue. He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold.
He was an organ donor and saved three lives. I met two of the recipients and we have become very close. I have since become a volunteer for organ donor awareness.
Although my family hasn’t been the same since his passing, we take comfort in knowing he lives on in the recipients of his donated organs.
