My husband Dan and I started dating as teenagers, married after 4.5 years of dating and had 3 amazing kids. I say amazing because each of them has so much of my husband in them. We were together over 25 years and had built an incredible happy life together. His sudden, tragic death is still so hard to comprehend even after almost 7 years but what has helped us the most is knowing that at any given moment we could cross paths with someone he helped through donation. We had talked openly with our kids about our choice to be registered donors years prior to his passing and it was a blessing when that horrible day came because we all knew his wishes. He was selfless in his life and in his death and wow what a legacy and what a great lesson to give to his children. We live now to make him proud everyday by giving back and spreading the word about how his donations have helped us heal.
