October 31st, 2021 was the worst day for myself, my boys and for all those who loved Christian so much. He served his country and was a hero to all of us for that sacrifice alone. For as long as I have known him he has always been listed as an organ donor. He was an amazing father to our boys and his absence is felt every single day. His selflessness was evident throughout his life. He'd help those he loved without hesitation. He'd also help anyone who needed it. He once saved a man at his work that had a heart attack. He performed CPR and used an AED until the ambulance showed up. His quick reaction and efforts saved this man's life. It was so hard to say goodbye to him. The hardest thing I've ever had to do. Knowing he gave his organs to save the lives of others made it a bit more bearable to say our final goodbyes. My husband, my boys father and one of our nation's heroes, saved 3 more lives by losing his and donating his organs. Knowing that there are still pieces of him out there living and keeping someone else alive to be with their loved ones is comforting.
