Cassandra was a 44-year-old person who lived with muscle dystrophy. She had a stroke at 7 years old and lived on a ventilator for 32 years. She developed pneumonia at age 40, and she chose to donate her kidneys so even in death, she lives on. She was my daughter and I miss her every day, but I’m so glad she helped someone else live longer.
