Carlos was a hard working man with a heart of gold, his nature was to always help those in need. He opened his home to those that were on their own, he cultivated an environment full of inclusion and acceptance. There was no discrimination of age, religion, economic status, we were all people needing people in his eyes, and that’s what our home became, a safe heaven. He made sure we helped each other and that we took care of each other. He would go visit you in a hospital or jail cell, but if it was up to him, you will never be alone. He was a protector. He always said that he would want to help even after death, his donations helped 96 people. He was not perfect, but his intentions to help were pure and I am proud to call him my dad.
