After a tragic car accident we were called to come to the hospital, we just thought that my younger brother was being careless when driving and had a bad fender bender. Little did we know, upon arriving we were ushered back with a sense of urgency, it’s then we knew it was something much worse. My brother, Brett was pronounced brain dead and we had many decisions to make. We already knew his wishes in becoming an organ donor, we as a family had lengthy discussions about organ donation many times. We felt this was the last wish we could grant for him here on earth. Three days in the hospital we finally came to that decision as a family, hardest decision ever for me, as I just knew he was going to recover and come out of this. Brett, is my hero, as he was able to donate his organs, that ultimately helped 8 people, and many many more with tissue donation.
My family has been touched three different times by organ donation, donor, living donor, and recipient.
My Brett, is my hero, because he gave so unselfishly at age 21. He had the courage to talk with his family about such a sensitive subject, at such a young age. Miss and love you, sweet brother..
Forever❤️
