Alexia was a bubbly college freshman who supported donation! Her dad and hero, Scott, was a double lung recipient in 2014 and she watched him suffer with pulmonary fibrosis and feared a transplant might not come in time to save his life. She never met her paternal grandmother, who died waiting for a lung transplant with the same condition that her dad inherited. She attended numerous transplant and donation activities throughout her short life. She celebrated holidays with the donor family that saved her dad, they traveled together to the transplant games and events at Mid-America Transplant in St. Louis.
A wonderful, curious and funny girl, Alexia lost her life due to an undiagnosed condition which caused her sudden cardiac arrest while at college. She is missed by all who knew her.
