Our son, Alexandre, lost his life at the age of 15 suddenly, due to a severe asthma attack brought on by a virus just hours after visiting his doctor. The moment the doctors and nurses in the critical care unit shared the diagnosis that Alex was brain dead, without hesitation, my husband and I asked how he could become an organ donor. We knew this was the best way to honor our son’s selfless, kind heart and soul. Alex would want nothing more than to help others. His legacy and love continues on through his family, friends, donor recipients and their family and friends.
