(Nashville, TN) December 7, 2017 – Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) recently named Deana Clapper, MSN, CCRN, CPTC, CTBS, as Associate Executive Director.

Deana joined TDS in 2002, initially as an Organ Recovery Coordinator, and was promoted into leadership as Clinical Team Leader. In 2008, tissue recovery operations were added to the organization, providing Clapper the opportunity to assist in the restructuring of the quality program.

Most recently, as Senior Director of Clinical Services, Deana directed the organ operations within TDS. Under her leadership in that role, TDS experienced a 22% growth in organ donors and 31% growth in organs transplanted. Deana was responsible for strategic planning, budget development, and guidance with the help of four managers for a team of over 40, including organ recovery, family care, and perfusion coordinators.

As Associate Executive director, her oversight will expand to all areas of the TDS donor program.

TDS Executive Director, Jill Grandas, welcomed Clapper by saying, “I could not be more proud of Deana’s accomplishments. This promotion is the result of her hard work and dedicated service to TDS and the families we serve. For the past 15 years, Deana has been an integral part of our team. She possesses the passion, insight, and clinical expertise to pave new ground for TDS and its mission to save lives.”

Clapper responded, “I am honored and thrilled to be able to help lead this organization in a new way. I’m tremendously excited to be able to help advance TDS’ mission of ensuring that every person in need receives a life-saving transplant.”
