Cribben Joins AOPO as Director of Government Affairs
MCLEAN, VA., October 7, 2020 – The Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) announced today that Mark V. Cribben joined the association as the new director of government affairs. In this role, Cribben will direct and manage AOPO’s advocacy outreach in an effort to advance the association’s policy agenda and work as a liaison with Members of Congress, congressional staff, and stakeholders.
Prior to joining AOPO, Cribben was the director, Family Medicine Political Action Committee, and a registered lobbyist for the American Academy of Family Physicians, where he began in 2005. While there, he established and helped grow their PAC to over $6 million.
Cribben has over 20 years of health care advocacy and government relations experience, including stints working for the American College of Emergency Physicians, and representing the American Society of Plastic Surgeons while working at Kent & O’Connor.
Cribben earned a Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law, and a B.A. in American Government from the University of Virginia.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Mark’s depth of experience join us at AOPO,” says Steve Miller, AOPO CEO. “Now is a critical time for OPOs and he will help us take our advocacy program to the next level as we focus on OPOs’ mission – to help save lives.”
