Rick was intelligent, witty, sarcastic, and had a great sometimes dark sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and was creative, artistic, and gifted with words.
His love of learning was obvious through his vast collection of books and the incredible knowledge he shared with anyone lucky enough to talk with him. He once said, “My life is in the details of my family and friends. Anybody can do a job and make a living, but there is much, much more to life.” That was Rick. His greatest love in life was truly his family, and he was blessed to be part of a large one.
He was a wonderful husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. He will be forever in our hearts until we can be with him again. His presence leaves a space that can never truly be filled, but his love, laughter, and the memories he gave us will continue to live on in each of us. We carry him with us in the stories we tell, the lessons he taught, and the way he made us feel so deeply loved.
We miss him every day, but his donation of life brings us peace, knowing he helped many others. Even in his passing, he gave selflessly a final act that reflects the kind of person he was. Through this gift, a part of him continues on, touching lives and bringing hope, and that is something we will always hold onto.
