Richard Steffener was the kind of man who made everyone around him feel deeply loved. He was our biggest supporter, never missing a sporting event, proudly wearing our jerseys, and learning enough about volleyball to offer us thoughtful encouragement and advice after every game. He celebrated every accomplishment as if it were his own and made each of us feel seen, valued, and cherished.
He was a hardworking farmer who spent his life providing for the people he loved, teaching all of us the meaning of determination, sacrifice, and quiet strength. To my boys, he was the most wonderful great-grandfather, and to me, he was one of the greatest blessings in my life. He was someone I could simply walk across the yard to sit with and talk to about anything. His love was steady, genuine, and unforgettable. We miss him more than words can express, and there will always be a space in our hearts that belongs only to him.
