On September 27, 2023, I received the gift of life through Tanya and her generous decision to be a donor. Though I never had the chance to meet her, her impact is something I carry with me every single day.

She loved life deeply. The outdoors brought her joy, and she loved the world around her.

Those who knew her best describe her as someone with a truly huge heart. She loved her wife, her family, and her friends fiercely. She had a way of making people feel seen and cared for, and her kindness wasn’t reserved…it was freely given to everyone she met. She was the kind of person who would step in and help without hesitation, simply because that’s who she was.

Her legacy continues in ways words can’t fully capture. Through her gift, she didn’t just save a life, she extended her compassion beyond her time here. I carry that responsibility with gratitude, and I honor her by striving to live with even a fraction of the same love, generosity, and goodness she showed so naturally.

Her story didn’t end…it continues through every breath I take.
