David was kind, loving, quiet, giving, funny and always available to help. The perfect son, who will be forever 22 in our hearts.  At the age of 16, David made the decision on his own to become an organ and tissue donor when he received his driver’s license, because as a Christian, he felt led to help people after his death. He was known by his gamer name as “Hero” by his friends in the online gaming community, and a real life hero to the many recipients and families his gift has touched. It was not a hard decision for us as his parents to honor David’s wishes, of him being a multiple organ and tissue donor, where he was able to save five lives, and help possibly hundreds of people with his bone and tissue donation. It’s what David wanted.

David’s Christian faith played an important part in his life, where he attended our church’s Christian school for 14 years, and graduated with honors as the class Salutatorian. He loved his history and computer classes the most, along with his music & worship team, where he learned to play the bass guitar. In David’s senior year, he and his class had the opportunity to go on a week long mission trip to Costa Rica (first time flying on a plane), helping at an orphanage and evangelizing in the local community.  He was so excited to tell us about his mission trip and show us all the pictures and videos he had taken, after he returned home. After graduation, he continued serving as part of our church’s worship praise team on Sunday mornings, playing one of his two bass guitars on stage.

Knowing without a doubt we will see our beloved son again in heaven, gives us peace and comfort as his parents.  Our faith and belief in our Lord and Savior allows us to continue on everyday with our wonderful memories of David, carrying him close in our hearts, and grateful for 22 wonderful years we were blessed have him here with us.  We love you and miss you everyday David—Love you always, Mom & Dad
