Jamilla was a caring, loving, happy Mother of two young girls 5 and 7. She was on her way to take them to a movie after work when she was involved in a traffic accident. Jamilla lived for 9 days and we were asked about organ donation. Jamilla had requested to be an organ donor on her driver’s license at 18. We honored her request and she was able to save 4 lives. As a result of this, myself and other family members, have chosen to be organ donors. Our local organ donor organization has shown us compassion and kindness and it means so much to us as we continue to grieve but also celebrate Jamilla’s selfless decision to be an organ donor.
