Job Summary: The Manager of Organ Services at HonorBridge plays a crucial leadership role in the Organ Services department, participating in all aspects of organ donation operations both in the field and in the Donor Care Unit.  This position requires strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills to effectively manage the organ donation process and ensure compliance with HonorBridge’s policies and procedures.

  • Adheres to HonorBridge policies, procedures and protocols relating to organ recovery
    • Oversees donor management process
    • Directs and maximizes organ recovery process
    • Ensures organ recovery is completed in accordance with hospital policy
    • Communicates information specific to recovery process to hospital staff
    • Performs necessary follow-up specific to the recovery process
  • Assists the Vice President of Organ Operations in assuring clinical staff are competent through adequate training to interact with donor families and conduct a comprehensive, accurate assessment of the medical status of potential organ donors
  • Completes paperwork completely and accurately
    • Follows HonorBridge policy and procedures
    • Assure complete documentation of all activities related to the donation process
  • Maintains clean, safe and organized work space
  • Actively assists with the HonorBridge quality assurance process
    • Serves as a technical resource for organ referrals
    • Assists with the chart completion process
  • Responsible for assuring adequate staff to provide 24 hour per day call coverage for potential organ donors and incoming organs
  • Assists the Vice Presidentof Organ Operations and Clinical Education Coordinator with training and continued education of Organ Donation Coordinators
  • Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with HonorBridge Managers.
  • Strives to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with all levels of hospital personnel and medical staff on a continual basis
    • Constructs and maintains working relationships with hospital staff and physicians
    • Works with Organ Services department staff and Hospital Liaisons to educate staff about organ donation
  • Prepares and provides reports as directed within a timely manner
  • Provides up to four shifts of administrative call and/or clinical call per month
  • Performs other duties as assigned by HonorBridge management
  • Conducts regular onsites with staff in the field and in the DCU.

What You Will Bring: 

  • A Bachelors Degree in Healthcare or orther relevant field required
  • A minimum of 2 years of Leadership Experience with a minimum of 1 year of Leadership Experience in a clinical environment.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the highest level of integrity.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stress
  • Demonstrated ability to function in high-pressure situations
  • Knowledge of operating room environment
  • Experience in form completion and documentation
  • Commitment to organ and tissue donation.
