Job Summary:
HonorBridge is recruiting for a Tissue Services Supervisor for the Night Shift. In this role you will direct and guide tissue recovery staff. In collaboration with the Manager and Director and in keeping with HonorBridge’s mission, the position works to assess, instruct, train, and encourage excellent tissue recovery techniques and to achieve maximum outcomes with tissue staff. You will also assess staff at work in the field (to include core competencies), train staff in new techniques and review techniques as needed.

This individual will be required to work 4:00pm-2:00am four days a week with some weekend coverage as needed.

  • Participates in the recruitment, selection, goal setting and performance evaluation of the tissue recovery staff.
  • Provides support, training, and education to the tissue recovery staff.
  • Trains and supports new employees during orientation.
  • Coordinates training documentation records for the tissue recovery staff in collaboration with the Tissue Education Coordinator
  • In collaboration with the Tissue Education Coordinator, identifies educational needs and sources for the tissue recovery staff.
  • Performs all functions of the Surgical Tissue Specialist (STS) and/or TAOC as assigned.
  • Provides up to six shifts of administrative call (equivalent of 24-hour shift) and/or clinical call (12-hour shift) per month.
  • Assists in assembling the scheduling of the recovery staff and TAOCs.
  • Maintains recovery outcome data and assists in identifying trends.
  • Assists the tissue recovery staff with managing pending chart information.
  • Performs audits throughout the department. Collects and monitors data as well as participates in department projects as requested using Lean.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Tissue Services
  • Occasional travel is required.

Physical Requirements: 

Lifting and/or carrying < 20 lbs.:  Greater than 65% of the time

Lifting and/or carrying < 50 lbs.:  Less than 35% of the time

Lifting and/or carrying < 100 lbs.:  Less than 35% of the time

Work Environment:

Normal office environment, operating room environment.

What we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. Candidates with a degree in Biology or Healthcare related field are preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience and successful performance in the field of tissue recovery is strongly preferred.
  • An active CTBS certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first year is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to tissue donation and recovery, including, but not limited to AATB and FDA and their application to the clinical processes at HonorBridge is strongly preferred.
  • Competence in all aspects of tissue donor recovery strongly preferred.
  • Conflict management and interpersonal skills with strong leadership ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities keeping workflow constant.
  • Ability to meet timelines.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and establish the highest level of integrity with others to coordinate work in order to meet objectives.
  • Must be amenable to a flexible work schedule to include calls, nights, and weekends.
  • Must possess a current, valid driver’s license.
