On August 4, 2021 Dan had an accident on his motorized skateboard and suffered an irreversible brain injury. We had never discussed organ donation within our family. So our family had to make the excruciating Donor decision while still in disbelief. We decided that since Dan was a kind, compassionate and selfless person that his last act of kindness would be to save lives.
Dan saved 4 lives with his heart, liver and both kidneys. He improved the lives of 54 others with his tissue, bone and cornea donation. Dan is a hero to many. We are lucky to have an ongoing relationship with Dan’s heart recipient. 💕
