My Son, Steven Timothy Sims(his whole Family called him Buddy), was the light of our family. He was one of those special people that didn’t know a stranger and could light up any room. He had a talent for making anyone laugh and was the life of any party. His family, music, guitar, and travel were his passions. I’ll never forget that first guitar, or concert or when he told me he was going to be a Dad. Such precious memories. He was an only child and the greatest love of my life. There’s not a single day that’ll go by without his presence being missed tremendously. As a heart transplant recipient myself, my whole family are organ donation advocates. My Son had always expressed his wishes to be a donor and registered when he became 18. We had no way of knowing that he would die tragically ten years later and fulfill his wishes to a complete stranger. There will never be anything that can fill the void left by his loss, but knowing two people now have the gift of sight because of him makes me very proud. He’s our Donor HERO! We love and miss you forever, Budman! God Bless all Donor families and Recipients! If you are a Donor, thank you! You will be a HERO to people you may never know. If you are not yet a registered Donor, please consider becoming one.
