Russ and Kathi’s 20-year-old son, Dylan, lived by the mantra “no regrets”. So it came as no surprise to them that Dylan was a registered organ and tissue donor. Sadly, Dylan passed away on July 31, 2006 following a motor cycle accident, but on that day, he saved five lives through organ donation and healed more than 80 others through tissue donation! He has an annual high school memorial scholarship created by friends and family, that originally raised $26,000, and will forever have two awards given annually through an endowment fund, with a preference to soccer players due to Dylan being an avid player since kindergarten, a three-year soccer letterman in high school and a member of two sectional championship teams, and an all Ohio team.
He was a friend to all, loved by many and missed by more.
The family still continues to received “Dylan Sightings” on a regular basis through Facebook messages and more, from friends and even messages from people they have never met, who discover his story through the posters on the trailers they see on their travels.
He is still making a huge impact. Thank you HyWay Trucking Company!
