Brandon was a fun loving, give the shirt off his back, hardworking young man. He lived life to the fullest and was the life of every party. Brandon was involved in a single vehicle accident on July 9th, 2023 and suffered a non survivable brain injury. While we were at Grand Strand Medical Center we were approached by Sharing Hope SC. Since Brandon was registered as an organ donor they asked me if I would like to donate his organ and tissue. I agreed and the next day July 10, 2023 was the hardest goodbye I have ever had to do. We did Brandon’s Honor Walk and said our final goodbye to him as he was wheeled to the OR. They were able to take his kidneys and some tissue. I received a letter a few weeks later letting me know that his kidneys went to research and his tissue was taken to be donated. About 8 months after his passing I received a call from Sharing Hope and they told me that someone had received Brandon’s tissue and was sending me a letter the person had written. I was overjoyed with emotions after receiving the letter. I was so happy that my son was able to help someone. Due to my son’s donation he will live on in someone else and that makes me so happy and proud. We miss Brandon every single day and I will continue to keep my sons name alive.
