I am the mother of my Hero. Every time I think of my son I am filled with sorrow and joy knowing that he was able to make a difference in the life of others. I would have loved to save his life and have him here next to me. I know that his life gave a family another opportunity to love their loved ones. His heart is still beating, his eyes are still seeing, his blood is still flowing and his imprint upon this world will never be forgotten. He was only 19 years old when he took his final breath I was still by his side and holding him as if it was his first. I was given the opportunity to meet one of the recipients of his kidneys I look forward to meeting others in due time. Organ Donors truly do save lives. My son’s donation was the only one in twenty years to do a full organ donation at the hospital where he was being treated in Kentucky.
