Lukas was born a fighter; at only 24 weeks gestation and a mere 15.7 ounces he fought every day of his short 6 months of life. But Lukas was destined for something great – at 6 months old before he passed he weighed a whopping 13 pounds and was perfect except for his lungs. When Lukas’ light here on earth was fading my husband and I decided to make him and organ donor, the Morristown Medical Center NICU’s first. After a honor walk, Lukas was able to donate heart valves and tissue. He forever lives on in our hearts and we are hopeful that his heart valve donation has been able to help another. Love you always sweet baby boy.
