We look forward to welcoming everyone to the AOPO Leadership Development Summit. We continue to work closely with the Omni Richmond Hotel to plan for a safe and healthy event.

This meeting will follow the local and state ordinances of Virginia. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required. However, AOPO strongly encourages all attendees to receive COVID-19 vaccines if they feel comfortable doing so. AOPO also encourages wearing masks while in the meeting space, although this is not required.

AOPO will have the following available for all attendees:
      • N95 masks at the registration desk – feel free to pick up a mask when you pick up your name badge
      • Hand sanitizer stations will be placed in and around the meeting space as well as throughout the hotel
      • At home COVID-19 test kits will be available at the registration desk for anyone who believes they are experiencing symptoms during the meeting. Also, a list of rapid test sites in the Richmond area.

All attendees may choose to wear a mask at any time, regardless of whether others around them are masked. AOPO requests that all attendees practice good hygiene while onsite, including regularly and thoroughly washing and sanitizing their hands throughout the day and observing social distancing guidelines where applicable.

If you become ill during the Leadership Development Summit, please remain in your room and contact Kim Oleson at koleson@aopo.org. She will work with the hotel and put you in touch with local health professionals, as needed.

You should not attend the AOPO Leadership Development Summit if you have been recently diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities or the health care team responsible for your treatment. In addition, attendees should self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and are asked to contact Kim Oleson at koleson@aopo.org if they test positive for COVID-19 within 10 days after participating in the AOPO Leadership Development Summit.

In the event AOPO is notified of an attendee testing positive while onsite at the Leadership Development Summit, or within 10 days after returning home from the meeting, a communication will be sent to all attendees so they may monitor themselves for possible symptoms. Any private health or personal data that may be received by AOPO in connection with such measures and precautions will be treated as confidentially as possible.

AOPO will continue to monitor the local and state ordinances and guidelines pertaining to the use of face masks and/or vaccinations and may make changes to the above accordingly.  If changes are made a communication will be emailed to all meeting registrants.
